The CrocodileAgent 2012: Negotiating Agreements in Smart Grid Tariff Market

چکیده
Power Trading Agent Competition (Power TAC) is a recently developed smart grid power market simulator that represents one competition scenario of the Trading Agent Competitions (TAC) international forum. According to the recent liberalization of power systems, the idea of Power TAC is the development of agent-based architectures which will provide realistic tests for the creation of future electric power markets. In this paper, we summarize the analysis of i) negotiating agreements in the Power TAC Tariff Market; and ii) approaches and methods that the CrocodileAgent uses to maximize its profit and balance its portfolio.

The CrocodileAgent 2012: Reaching Agreements in a Simulation of a Smart Grid Wholesale Market
Over the last few years electricity markets are going through liberalization and modernization processes, which have resulted in introduction of smart grids. The Power Trading Agent Competition (Power TAC) is a simulation platform for evaluating trading strategies for the smart grid electricity markets: the tariff and the wholesale market. This paper gives an outline of our proposed strategies ...
متن کاملIntelligent trading agent for power trading through tariff market
The master thesis describes an intelligent agent developed for power trading in the tar-iff market. First, the theoretical background related to the motivation for switching fromtraditional grids to Smart Grids is presented. The thesis continues with the simulation plat-forms for agents and the key implications of real-world tariff design and principles. Lastly, the complete arch...
متن کاملNegotiated Learning for Smart Grid Agents: Entity Selection based on Dynamic Partially Observable Features
An attractive approach to managing electricity demand in the Smart Grid relies on real-time pricing (RTP) tariffs, where customers are incentivized to quickly adapt to changes in the cost of supply. However, choosing amongst competitive RTP tariffs is difficult when tariff prices change rapidly. The problem is further complicated when we assume that the price changes for a tariff are published ...
متن کاملChile’s Regional Arrangements: the Importance of Market Access and Lowering the Tariff to Six Percent
Using a multi-sector multi-country computable general equilibrium model, we examine Chile’s “additive regionalism” strategy of negotiating bilateral free trade agreements with all of its significant trading partners. Chile’s agreements with “Northern” partners provide sufficient market access to overcome trade diversion costs for Chile. By lowering its tariff from eleven to six percent, Chile i...

Distributed electricity producers, such as small wind farms and solar installations, pose several technical and economic challenges in Smart Grid design. One approach to addressing these challenges is through Broker Agentswho buy electricity from distributed producers, and also sell electricity to consumers, via a Tariff Market–a new market mechanism where Broker Agents publish concurrent bid a...
